Emotions are Contagious Quiz
Have you noticed that when other people laugh sometimes you feel like laughing, even though you don’t know why they are laughing in the first place. Or that when a baby cries, other babies start crying. Our children pick up on our emotions, whether they are positive or negative.
How about your children? How susceptible are they? Would you like to know? Here is a very short quiz to find out!
Emotional Contagion Quiz
For each question, use the following score system:
ALWAYS - 3, SOMETIMES - 2, NEVER - 1
- When another child cries, does your child get worried or upset?
- If other children are excited, does your child easily get excited too?
- When a child or adult laughs, does your child laugh too without knowing why?
- If your child sees someone getting hurt, do they get upset?
- Does your child get anxious when they hear someone being cross?
- Does your child feel sad at a sad story?
- Can your child keep a straight face when those around them are laughing hard?
- Does your child smile back when someone smiles at them for no reason?
Add up the scores!
Scores over 16 means that your child is more susceptible and lower scores means they are less susceptible. The higher the score, the more susceptible your child is to emotional contagion. We need to be particularly sensitive to children who are more susceptible to emotional contagion.
